Ultra Tech Foundry

A finished metal casting may look like a simple component, but its journey from design to dispatch involves multiple stages of engineering, manufacturing and quality control.

At Ultra Tech Foundry (UTF), the casting process follows a structured sequence designed to transform patterns and raw materials into finished castings for infrastructure and industrial applications.

1. Pattern Making

Every casting begins with a pattern that represents the required shape of the final component. The accuracy of the pattern is important because it forms the basis for the mould and ultimately influences the dimensions of the finished casting.

2. Sand Moulding & Core Making

The pattern is used to prepare the mould. UTF’s casting process includes sand moulding and core making, where prepared sand is used to create the required casting cavity and internal features.

3. Melting & Treatment

The required metal is melted using induction furnaces. UTF’s facilities include 1 MT and 2 MT induction furnaces, along with equipment for material and process testing.

4. Pouring & Knockout

The molten metal is poured into the prepared mould. Once the casting has solidified, the mould is removed during the knockout stage, revealing the newly formed component.

5. Cleaning, Heat Treatment & Finishing

The casting then undergoes cleaning and, where required, heat treatment. Fettling and finishing remove excess material and prepare the casting for further processing.

6. Machining & Final Inspection

Machining is carried out according to customer requirements. Before dispatch, the casting undergoes final inspection. UTF’s laboratory capabilities include metal spectrometer analysis, universal strength testing, hardness testing, moisture testing and other testing equipment.

From Foundry to Infrastructure

A casting’s journey doesn’t end at the foundry. It becomes part of infrastructure, drainage systems, industrial equipment and other applications where consistent quality matters.

At Ultra Tech Foundry, the process brings together experience, science, manufacturing discipline and testing to create castings built for their intended applications.

Because quality isn’t just inspected at the end. It is built into the process from the beginning.
